Founded by Katherine Stone, His Favourite is a place for women to be encouraged to live out their royal God given identity. Here are a few questions to get to know Katherine better.
Why did you start His Favourite?
I have always been fascinated with kings, queens, and royalty, both in fairytales and real life. However, it was only in recent years that I realized God is my Father, and He is a King. Knowing that I am an heir to an inheritance that can never perish, spoil, or fade is nothing short of amazing. In the present, I am called to walk in the royal identity of Christ. Throughout my life, I have battled with self-doubt, but that seems to disappear when I remind myself of the security I have as God’s daughter. I want other women to walk in confidence, knowing their status in the present and the incredible inheritance that lies before them in the age to come.
Give me the quick stats
I was born in the small city of Canberra, Australia. Now, I live in New York with my husband, Brad. My family is spread across the globe, residing in Chile, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia. People often describe me as welcoming, creative, and a perfectionist. At heart, I am a romantic. I am always changing and evolving—hopefully for the better!
What are your favourite things?
I have a lot of them… I adore afternoon tea. There’s something relaxing and elegant about sipping a cup of tea served in a beautiful China set with a table decorated with flowers. I enjoy taking walks in gardens, especially if there is a fountain, pond and trimmed English hedge. I love creating things from scratch and expressing my creativity. I love opera, ballet, cinema and jazz – especially if the music transports me to another world. I enjoy tennis – although have never been that good.
What are your favourite places?
Some of my favourite destinations are on the Almalfi Coast, including Positano and the Isle of Capri. These towns are so charming and picturesque. Another place that holds a special place in my heart is Marrakech in Morocco. It was where I spent my honeymoon with my husband, and we had the most amazing time enjoying the hospitality of the locals. Finally, I must mention two cities – one that I previously called home, and one where I currently live – London and New York. They are both celestial to me, full of possibility.
Morning or night person?
Naturally a night owl, although try to be a morning person.
Who encourages you?
The giants of the faith. Unfortunately, no longer on this earth – C.S Lewis and my former pastor Tim Keller.
